1st day of 1st grade

Autumn had her first day of FULL day school. From what she says, she was in little kid heaven. As the bus was coming down the road, she started to fidgit with her coat zipper. I asked if she was nervous and she said she was a little bit because it was all day and then she hoped on the bus with a quick hug and a kiss.

I met the bus at school. It was 10 minutes late! So she was late on her first day. I made sure she knew how to get to her classroom that we had visited the day before. She did great! I met her off the bus (which was 45 min late!) and she said it was the best day ever.

Today was her 2nd day and she said it was even better.

She paints a pretty picture but I saw the look on her face before she saw me when the bus pulled in. I heard her say she sat alone on the bus ride to school. She talks about how she loves it but I know there are rough spots in her days. She says she didn't mind sitting by herself on the bus. She LOVES lunch time and can't wait to get a "hot" lunch so she can load up her tray and pay for that crap with the little credit card.

I said she could buy lunch 1 day a week. She said Wednesday. Good choice. Nice break up of the week for packing lunches.

I just got her hair cut and I love it. The guy did a horrible job so I had to fix it when we got home. Erik says she looks like Loyd Christmas but I love it.
